Full time position in the Pittsfield, MA office for individual looking to help children, youth and families adjust to the challenges of the foster care system while promoting safety, well-being and permanency.
Responsibilities include training and assessing prospective foster parents; offering support and supervision of foster parents in monthly home visits and workshops; managing licensing requirements through evaluations, documentation, file maintenance and meetings with state agency; meeting, matching and placing children/youth experiencing foster care with foster families.
Other responsibilities include case management to assist in the improvement of the social, educational and emotional functioning of children/youth experiencing foster care. Visit with children/youth at their foster home or school, make referrals for services, collaborate with service providers and develop permanency plans.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and a social work license (LSWA minimum) or be eligible for licensure. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, the ability to build rapport with children/youth and families are required. Also needed effective oral and written communication skills; time management and organizational skills; valid driver’s license, insurance & vehicle. Candidates who celebrate diversity are welcome.
