A New Day for Families and Children
Our Intersection with the MA Dept. of Children and Families
18 Degrees' Family Networks teams are housed in the offices of the MA Department of Children and Families (DCF). They provide an access-hub of services providing stabilization support and advocacy.
The work and pace are demanding, yet each team brings experience and compassion for those they serve. The program embodies our core values of courage, accountability, integrity, and "better together" in the work of assisting families in crisis, helping them on their way to new beginnings and a brighter tomorrow. |
18 Degrees' Family Networks is there to identify services and resources in the community to help DCF-involved families find support to meet their needs. Family Networks is just one way we assist DCF-involved families and children. |
We also receive referrals to our home-visiting program Community Centered Family Support.
This program takes a holistic approach to building resiliency for families in Berkshire County and the Pioneer Valley. With an 18 Degrees Family Support Worker at their side, caregivers take steps toward reunifying or maintaining custody of their children, and find a path towards greater self-sufficiency. |
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is another intersection with the Dept. of Children and Families where volunteers serve as advocates for children in state custody cases. "Being a CASA is challenging and incredibly rewarding. My sole focus is on making sure that the children's needs are met and their voices are heard." - Kristine, CASA Volunteer |
