  • The Substance Use Prevention Specialist will work with youth across agency programs including Pittsfield Community Connection, West Main Connection, Healing Homes, Family Resource Center and Brave Spaces.
  • They will work across the agency to share resources and prevention strategies within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating group activities and field trips for youth with a healing atmosphere.
  • Perform routine evaluations, analyze and report results of collected data. [Department of Public Health Training will be provided].
  • This position works with youth to provide education about the dangers and prevention of substance use through healthy, fun activities and field trips led by youth.
  • Some evenings and weekend hours are required.

Qualification Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma plus 3 to 5+ years of experience Relevant Work with BIPoc & LGBTQ+ youth development programs; Substance Use Disorder
work and Lived recovery experience [preferred]

Our Family Resource Center in Pittsfield needs a Child and Family Clinician. [No Billing required!] Work with a team to help children and families with mental health issues, behavioral problems, life skills, school issues, parenting skills, growth opportunities and more. Facilitate family initiatives to divert children from the juvenile system. Help us champion access, opportunity, belonging, and well-being for all people on their journey, helping to build thriving communities

  • Champion the Program Director with Clinical supervision and program development, including leading groups.
  • Coach the team in trauma informed practices, case reviews, documentation and best practices.
  • Conduct Trauma Informed Intakes, CANS Assessments, screenings, and other supplemental behavioral needs assessments.
  • Develop family support plans to address and assess family needs and strengths
  • Determine community referral needs and internal programming opportunities.
  • Provide short term individual counseling to children, youth and family with referral recommendation for long term services.
  • Support parents on how to help their child; utilizing Strengthening Families, EMPath Models and other proven best practices for data driven results.

Your Team will include two Family Support workers, School Liaison, Substance Use Disorder diversion specialist, administrative support and the responsibility of directly supervising a Family Partner with Lived Experience. MSW, MA or M.Ed in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required. Must be licensed or license eligible for one of the following: LMHC, LMFT, LADCI or LCSW. PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

Pay Range: $ 50 hour

  • The Substance Use Prevention Clinician provides clinical consultation to program staff and the
    Youth Services Manager. Consultation primarily consists of embedding skills development into groups, activities and field trips; working from an upstream clinical perspective, recommending referrals for services, working with families as needed and brief intervention with youth to bolster positive coping skills.
  • Support group co-facilitation, working from a harm reduction framework.
  • Collaborating with Youth Services Manager to develop programming designed to develop resiliency in the LGBTQIA+ community.
  • Work from a harm reduction philosophy for positive physical and behavioral health outcomes.
  • Sexual health education, STI prevention and positive relationship development.

Collaboration with families when needed.

Qualification Requirements:

Education: Master’s level clinician; License preferred

Experience: Work with youth, children and families, understanding of harm reduction, LGBTQIA+ work highly preferred, working with teenagers preferred. Experience running groups or activities is helpful.

Other Required Knowledge: solid skills in MS Office, ability to administer and analyze data from evaluation tools, solid report writing skills.

Schedule: 8-10 hours as scheduled. After school hours primarily with some evening hours, possible weekend hours.
