PITTSFIELD, MA

Full-Time, weekdays, with a half-day Saturday once a month. Otherwise, no weekends, nights or holidays! This position is employed by the Brien Center, but housed in 18 Degrees’ Family Resource Center located at 480 West St. in Pittsfield, MA.

General Description
Program Supervision under the direction of Family Resource Program Manager, and direct clinical services to Family Resource Centers (FRC) including Comprehensive Mental Health Assessments, including the Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment; short term treatment.  Provide clinical supervision to Family Partner(s), supervision of FRC clinician (if applicable), and Care Planning to Youth and Families of the Family Resource Centers (FRC).

 Qualifications

  • Current licensure and 5 years experience as a licensed Clinician required
  • CANS certification is required within first week of employment
  • Experience working with Children and their Families in a clinical setting
  • Diagnostic and treatment knowledge and skill
  • Knowledge of services and human service agencies in Berkshire County
  • Extensive knowledge of the dynamics of mental health/substance abuse treatment,
    intervention and education
  • Experience in providing individual and group mental health/substance abuse and family
    counseling
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to work on interdisciplinary team

At 18 Degrees, we cultivate teams and leaders to embrace the principles of diversity, equity and inclusiveness to support the needs of our community.  The Youth Programs Coordinator will conduct outreach and participant recruitment for the Pittsfield Community Connection (PCC) program engaging vulnerable youth ages 10-24 from hire until Dec. 31st, 2022.

  • Plan and lead prevention, intervention, and diversion efforts of pro-social programming.
  • Coordinator will chaperone all programming activities; responsible for assisting PCC staff in
    planning, implementing and executing different activities for the summer/ fall schedule
  • Follow up with participants and staff to ensure planned activities are adequate including but
    not limited to keeping data and assisting with pre- and post-activity questionnaires
  • Assist with youth engagement, facilitating workshops, data collection, participant transport
    to and from activities
  • Join outreach efforts at the different Pittsfield Public Schools throughout the week during
    school lunch times
  • Anything else that pertains to the scheduled implementation.

Concentrate on family and youth services in the community while also actively looking for vulnerable youth who may benefit from services and also providing information for potential mentors. This person will work with Program Manager and case managers to ensure service delivery, client confidentiality, and youth engagement.  Some college preferred, but not required.  High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and registered and insured vehicle.  Experience working with youth development programs; lived experience with at risk youth strongly preferred. Part-time Cook position (22.5 hours/week) will support the child care program by assisting the Cook Nutritionist in daily operations in the kitchen, preparation of foods, delivery of foods, tracking allergens, cleaning and maintenance. Cross training for necessary coverage of meals service during the absence of the supervisor. As needed, will function as a liaison to the classroom to provide enhanced communication and feedback to the kitchen for successful food programming.
