Full-Time, weekdays, with a half-day Saturday once a month. Otherwise, no weekends, nights or holidays! This position is employed by the Brien Center, but housed in 18 Degrees’ Family Resource Center located at 480 West St. in Pittsfield, MA.

General Description
Program Supervision under the direction of Family Resource Program Manager, and direct clinical services to Family Resource Centers (FRC) including Comprehensive Mental Health Assessments, including the Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment; short term treatment.  Provide clinical supervision to Family Partner(s), supervision of FRC clinician (if applicable), and Care Planning to Youth and Families of the Family Resource Centers (FRC).

 Qualifications

  • Current licensure and 5 years experience as a licensed Clinician required
  • CANS certification is required within first week of employment
  • Experience working with Children and their Families in a clinical setting
  • Diagnostic and treatment knowledge and skill
  • Knowledge of services and human service agencies in Berkshire County

The Program Director is responsible for representing the program and for building the coalition of community stakeholders that are committed to addressing violence as a community health issue. The Program Director will develop and implement a Youth Advisory Board. Working with community stakeholders, develop a strategy to address racial equity, trauma informed service delivery and engage youth in positivedevelopmental outcomes.

The Program Director has final responsibility for PCC-Coalition program operations, as well as the program budget, data collection and reporting, and the administrative aspects of the PCC-Coalition program. Works in direct, daily partnership with Program Director of PCC-SSYI (Safe & Successful Youth Initiative) and PCC- Shannon to oversee and maximize the coordination and collaboration of gang intervention and gun violence prevention programming, efforts, and services.
Education: MSW, MPH, or equivalent, strongly preferred.

Outreach Case Worker primary responsibilities:

  • Ability to meet individuals where they are and think on your feet in high stakes situations
  • Work with youth referred by local police liaison to identify, engage, recruit, and help young people involved in violent crime in Pittsfield;
  • Have experience with the criminal justice system and a passion for assisting young people to redirect their lives through education, mental health, and employment services;
  • Knowledge & understanding of the systemic, socio-economic, educational & other challenges our youth confront including knowledge of gang culture;
