The ideal candidate is a dynamic, skilled, clinician with experience working with adolescents and young adults. STRONGLY PREFERRED:  Clinical experience with community, regional and multi-disciplinary approaches to trauma and violence through coordinated programs for prevention, intervention, and suppression with at risk or proven risk youth and young adults.

This clinician will work with our Youth Development Programs in both our Pittsfield, MA and North Adams, MA locations.

  • Connect with K4H families and students in a positive, welcoming, and inclusive manner
  • Increase awareness of community resources and referrals to all K4H family members through newsletters, emails, phone calls, and text messages
  • Organizes introductory meetings with families at the beginning of the year.
  • Integrate agency best practices into ongoing activities and materials for staff, families and students
  • Coordinate aspects of the social emotional learning (SEL)curriculum materials devised from best practices to have continuity between program sites. Conduct skills groups based on this material and support the program overall to integrate these practices.

Community Centered Family Support is a program that offers many services primarily: home visiting with parents/caregivers or transition age youth, supervised visitation, group facilitation and engaging in goal setting according to evidence based practices. Promote the well-being and strength of families by providing family support in home-based settings and monitoring family visits. This position requires training in agency best practices including but not exclusive to: Motivational interviewing and Nurturing Parents Curriculum.

  • Provide supervision for court ordered family time visits in our West Springfield office and occasionally in the community. Maintain a positive environment and overall safety during the visit. [Report any safety concerns immediately.]
  • Create a safe visitation environment in accordance with best practices, putting the well-being of children first.
  • Observe the visit between the parent(s) and child(ren) in an impartial manner, documenting the interaction, making note of behaviors of both the parent(s) and the child(ren).
  • Make determinations as to when and if a visit needs to be ended or interrupted, and end such visits as needed.
  • Complete documentation as assigned in the agency database and or other court issued documentation.
  • Have knowledge of child and family development and working from a strengths-based perspective.
  • Participate in team meetings and weekly supervision and keep your supervisor informed of progress, challenges, areas of concern, incidents, successes, and opportunities.
  • This part-time position [2:30pm to 6:30pm with flexibility] will require occasional evening work and periodic availability on Saturday.
  • Background record check required.

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree with 2 years relevant experience in family support.
Experience: Two or more years of professional human service experience preferred. Experience working with children and families. Experience with child development and/or child welfare preferred. Bi-lingua (Spanish)/multi-lingual abilities, preferred.
