Clinician for Youth Programs

Family Services Access Specialist

Social Worker for Intensive Foster Care Program


Full time position in the Pittsfield, MA office for individual looking to help children, youth and families adjust to the challenges of the foster care system while promoting safety, well-being and permanency. Responsibilities include training and assessing prospective foster parents; offering support and supervision of foster parents in monthly home visits and workshops; managing licensing requirements through evaluations, documentation, file maintenance and meetings with state agency; meeting, matching and placing children/youth experiencing foster care with foster families. Other responsibilities include case management to assist in the improvement of the social, educational and emotional functioning of children/youth experiencing foster care. Visit with children/youth at their foster home or school, make referrals for services, collaborate with service providers and develop permanency plans. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and a social work license (LSWA minimum) or be eligible for licensure. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, the ability to build rapport with children/youth and families are required. Clinician Needed for Youth Programming in Pittsfield and North Adams


The ideal candidate is a dynamic, skilled, licensed clinician with experience working with adolescents and young adults.  STRONGLY PREFERRED:  Clinical experience with community, regional and multi-disciplinary approaches to trauma and violence through coordinated programs for prevention, intervention, and suppression with at-risk or proven risk youth and young adults. Youth Development Specialist


18 Degrees (formerly Berkshire Children & Families, Inc.) is where new beginnings come to light for children and families – and could be where your new career does the same!  This is a part time role for our 26-week long RAP, Inc. program.  The role will be responsible for recruitment, outreach, screening, and intake of youth interested in building financial skills through social engagement and musical expression via the art and business of rap and hip-hop music.  The right candidate will:
  • Collaborate with community members and industry advisors to help youth make impactful connections.
  • Collect and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to assess project impact and effectiveness.
  • Have a flexible schedule and ability to support the learning experiences of youth participants.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, conflict resolution skills, and group facilitation skills.
  • Be energetic, able to relate well with others, have experience working with teens.
  • Have at least a high school diploma (an associate degree is preferred) and a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
RAP, Inc. is also looking for a Youth Support Specialist who will work with and support the Youth Development Specialist and the youth in program for 9 hours/week (4.5 hours on each of 2 session days per week). String Teaching Artist – North Adams and Pittsfield


20 hours/week. The String Teaching Artist will be the Lead Teacher for our North Adams site (M, W, F) and a supporting Teaching Artist in our Pittsfield site (T and Th). This teacher will lead beginning and intermediate school-aged string ensembles and lessons focused on age appropriate skill development for young musicians and building community through ensemble playing. The Lead Teacher will schedule sectionals, pull out lessons, and work with the Artistic Director (and other teaching staff) to choose repertoire.  This teacher must also be able to engage and support youth families who are struggling with poverty and other stressors.   Experience in violin, viola, or cello, teaching music, and a belief in music as a vehicle for social change is a must. Part time, after school hours (roughly 3pm – 6pm; flexibility for 10-20 hours/week).  This role will work with elementary school students in an El Sistema based program in the North Adams Public Schools, and will design and implement a basic music learning curriculum for the program of up to 14 students.  Experience with a musical instrument (violin/viola/cello helpful, but not required); teaching music; and a belief in music as a vehicle for social change is a must.  A flexible schedule with some nights and weekends is required.
