Let’s hear it for Nancy! Nancy Gomez is an EMPath Peer Specialist, a position she’s held since 2019 – shortly after she completed the program. The Economic Mobility Pathways model (EMPath) is an evidence-based model to help coach families to move out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency. In her role, Nancy shares her lived experience as an immigrant, her great enthusiasm and her warmth with new immigrant families pursuing their own dreams. Her families know they are in good hands with her by their side because she understands where they’ve been and what steps to take to move them forward.
Whether it’s finding a job, becoming first-time homebuyers, or finding an English class, Nancy uses her seemingly endless network (and tireless energy) to connect Latinx families and show them what’s possible in their new country.
When she isn’t busy networking or working with families, she loves spending time with her husband and their five young children! 18 Degrees is thankful for Nancy’s delightful energy and the great advocacy skills she shares with her families.
