18 DEGREES RECEIVES GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT MENTORING PROGRAM

18 Degrees is pleased to have been awarded a second $20,000 grant from the Mass Mentoring Partnership to support youth in the Pittsfield Community Connection Program (PCC). This matching grant is further supported by generous grant funding we received in 2022 from Berkshire United Way. 18 Degrees is honored to partner with our local and state funders who value the adult-youth relationships that provide the protective factors to positively impact youth in Berkshire County.

“Every young person deserves to have someone they can call on,” said Bryan House, Vice President of Youth Development at 18 Degrees. “We see firsthand the positive effects mentor relationships have on various personal, academic, and professional situations. With this generous funding, we can match more young people with caring adults.”

Originally created in 1999, Mentoring Matching Grant funding is the only state investment solely dedicated to expanding youth mentoring in Massachusetts, and its primary goal is to increase the number of high-quality mentoring matches in the state.

PCC is actively recruiting adult mentors who want to make a difference in a young person’s life. If you or someone you know is interested in mentoring, please contact Mentor Coordinator Gail Krumpholz at  gkrumpholz@18degreesma.org or call 18 Degrees at (413) 448-8281
