Mentoring Awards and Accolades
We’re proud to share that, because of the effectiveness of our mentoring efforts and our commitment to youth and volunteers, Mass Mentoring has named us a Gold Partner by the National Quality Mentoring System (NQMS).
This designation reflects our commitment to excellence and affirms that our mentoring practices meet nationally recognized standards for quality and impact.
Being a Gold Partner provides reassurance to families, participants, and the community, that our program is built on best practices and continuous improvement.

It goes without saying that this accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without our Director of Volunteer Services, Amy Guachione. As a testament to her hard work and consistency, Amy was recently awarded the Pittsfield Rotary Club’s, Kagan Award. This award is given to only 2 people annually, for their commitment to volunteerism and going “above and beyond” what is expected. Alongside Amy is Peter White, fellow recipient of the award and Pittsfield City Councilor At-Large.
If you would like to get involved or learn more about 18 Degrees’ volunteer efforts, please reach out to aguachione@18degreesma.org

Parents as Teachers (PAT) Present at PatCon
Program Director and Peer Recovery Coach, Jaclyn Carnevale (left), went to Puerto Rico to present and educate attendees of the 2025 Parents as Teachers Conference!
The integration of Peer Recovery Coaches into the PAT program was first piloted in 2018 in Berkshire County, by 18 Degrees. Since then, the model has been a positive influence for other PAT programs across the country.
This specific approach was designed to better support pregnant and parenting individuals, as well as their families, with navigating substance use. More broadly, the mission of PAT is to promote the optimal early development, learning, and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.
Driven by the leadership of Jaclyn, our Parents as Teachers program was recognized as a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, by the Parents as Teachers Quality Endorsement and Improvement Process (QEIP).
