Staff Spotlight, July 2022: Courtney Clark

By: Sean Elligers, Artistic Director

If you’ve followed Kids 4 Harmony and seen or heard the many students’ achievements, you’ve likely seen or heard of Courtney Clark as well – once the program’s Lead Teaching Artist and eventually the Artistic Director. Since 2011, alongside Alicia Stevenson (the previous Artistic Director), Courtney has been the unstoppable engine behind the Kids 4 Harmony and its vision. She has helped shape the program into what it is today. Courtney’s dedication was extraordinary. She worked tirelessly to develop both the Pittsfield and North Adams programs.

She worked tirelessly to develop both the Pittsfield and North Adams programs. Her expectations were high- often higher than the musicians even had for themselves! She could see their potential and created infinite opportunities for them to discover and develop their talents. Years from now, these students will fondly remember the teacher who believed they could reach great heights in whatever they chose to do. Our recent Ten-year Celebration at Tanglewood was Courtney’s final performance as an official K4H staff member. But she’s certainly graduated to K4H’s official #1 fan. She and her husband recently welcomed their first child, Wesley, into their family and have put down new roots in Ohio! The students and staff thank Courtney for her incredible commitment to Kids 4 Harmony and wish her all the best in her family’s newest chapter!
